IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM HILLEL
Following are three important announcements from Hillel regarding our annual Hillel Campaign to Support the Jewish United Fund, lunch with the Israeli scholar visiting for the Peace Conference and information about the Hillel First Seder.
HILLEL BEGINS ITS ANNUAL CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT THE JEWISH UNITED FUND
To friends of Hillel:
You know the free kosher food that is always available at Hillel, and the great activities we sponsor that are free?
Today, Hillel at Loyola begins its annual Campaign for the Jewish United Fund. The Campaign runs until next Friday, March 30, just before Passover. The Jewish United Fund allocates money to organizations which provide services to Jews and others in the Chicagoland area and to Jewish communities in need in Israel and throughout the world. And, in terms of our own Jewish community at Loyola, Hillel's primary funding comes through the Jewish United Fund.
People are in need. Can you help?
Please come into the Hillel office in the next 10 days and fill out a pledge card to make a contribution pledge. We are not collecting money. You can either leave your credit card information or you will receive a bill in the mail from the Jewish United Fund for whatever amount you pledge. Those who make a Campaign pledge will have a "designer Jewish star" made for them on our thank-you "Wall of Fame." You also have the option to email Patti Ray, Hillel Director, at pray@luc.edu with the amount you would like to pledge. If you come into Hillel, you can check out the beautiful decorations on the kitchen cabinets that explain some of the international and local agencies and organizations that are supported by the Jewish United Fund.
It is important now, as students, to begin to offer support to our Jewish communal organization, even with a small pledge. The number of students that make pledges is actually more important than the actual amount, because the act of pledging to help the Jewish community begins or continues a pattern that you will hopefully carry with you well after your college years. We conduct our JUF campagin so that every Jewish student can take advantage of this opportunity to help others.

Hillel at Loyola 2007 JUF Campaign Committee
THURSDAY, MARCH 22 LUNCH WITH VISITING ISRAELI SCHOLAR, YAACOV IRAM - NOON AT HILLEL
Prof. Yaacov Iram was invited to come from Israel to participate on the Mideast panel for the university-wide conference "Peacemaking in an Age of Terror."
Professor Yaacov Iram is the UNESCO Chair on Human Rights, Democracy, Peace and International Understanding at Bar Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel. He also holds the Josef Burg Chair in Education for Human Values, Tolerance and Peace at the university.
He is on a very tight schedule these few days he is at Loyola, but he will be coming to Hillel tomorrow, THURSDAY, MARCH 22 for an informal pizza lunch at NOON in the HILLEL LIVING ROOM. This is an outstanding opportunity to ask a scholar committed to creating peace in the Mideast any questions about the current situation and the prospects for such a peace.
HILLEL AT LOYOLA FIRST SEDER - MONDAY EVENING, APRIL 2 - 7:00 PM - MUNDELEIN CENTER LOUNGE-1ST FLOOR
This year Hillel at Loyola is hosting its annual Seder on the first night of Passover. This is a traditional, kosher Seder with all the fun and rituals assiciated with the Passover meal, conducted by Hillel at Loyola students. The Seder is free, but please let us know you are coming by signing up at Hillel or by emailing Patti Ray at pray@luc.edu.
