Bridging the Gap
In the next several weeks, young, fresh faces will be stepping onto college campuses everywhere for the first time as college students.  Most of these students will have already decided how they will spend their college years, posing challenges for the various campus organizations vying for the students' attention.  The challenge for Hillel professionals is encouraging Jewish studentsto participate in Jewish life on campus.

To prevent these young people from dropping out of the Jewish community, a broad coalition of Jewish organizations and youth movements, with Hillel at the lead, is working to facilitate the transition from high school to college.  Between personal invitations to welcome week and high holiday activities, Reform Judaism Magazine's second edition of  The Insiders Guide to College and another year of Chai Wire: Hillel's Guide to the College Balancing Act , the Jewish community is committed to helping future and present Jewish college students choose to have meaningful Jewish experiences during their college years.
