Send a Message to Kofi Annan: UN Secretary General

Israel is facing a crisis. Violence has again erupted in the North. Families have been forced to huddle in bomb shelters or flee their homes. Hundreds have been wounded on both sides and casualties are mounting. Yet Hezbollah has promised to continue their attacks against Israel.

Israel has the right to exist within safe, secure borders and protect its citizens. It's that simple. That is why I am asking you to send a message to the UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.

Act now! Send a message to Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Our message is clear and resolute: world leaders must exert pressure to return Israel's kidnapped soldiers and for Hezbollah to stop their attacks on Israel. UN Security Council Resolution 1559 requires the disbanding and disarmament of all militias in Lebanon and the deployment of the Lebanese army along the border with Israel. Urge the United Nations to uphold this promise of peace.

Your participation is critical. Israeli citizens should not stand alone at this time of need. Will you add your voice to this petition and help us attain this goal?

Stand with Israel - add your voice to the petition!

Israel will not stand for terrorist attacks on its cities and neither will we. But to send the message to the world leaders we need your voice - please don't wait, sign petition to Kofi Annan today!

    Thanks for your support.

The War in Israel & Lebanon
    What's Going on and Why?

Conference Call with Dr. Kobi Michael Monday, July 24 at 8 p.m. CDT.

The current military conflict in Israel and Lebanon raises many questions, often inadequately or incompletely answered by much of the media analysis: Why would Israel respond to Hezbollah in this manner? What is the strategy involved? Is it ever justified to put civilians harm's way?

You are invited discuss these questions via conference call with Dr. Kobi Michael, post-doctoral fellow in the Northwestern University Political Science department. The call will take place on Monday night, July 24, from 8 - 9:30 PM Central Time (9 p.m. on the east coast, 6 p.m. Pacific time). The format will consist of a short briefing by Dr. Michael, followed by answers to your questions submitted by email during the conversation.

To join the call, just RSVP by Monday afternoon to Adam Simon at
