Welcome to the last edition of This Week at Hillel for this academic year.  We promise to be in touch about upcoming programs but this will be the last regularly scheduled edition of our newsletter for the summer.  We hope you all have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you again in the Fall.

 Our regularly scheduled Shabbat services and dinner are still happening.  We know you all need to take a minute and relax.  What could be better than a little Jewish soul food and singing?

Whirlyball Extravaganza

 
 
Some call it a sport. Others call it a lesson in humility. 
 
Who doesn't love a great game of whirlyball?  Stop by on Saturday night to give a little back to the Jewish community and have a great time in the process.

07-08 JCRC/Hillel's Israel Initiative

Intern Description

 

This internship is a paid position, and a time requirement of 5-20 hours a week is therefore necessary. 

 

  REQUIREMENTS:

 

Initiate and foster Israel-related programs on campus for both Jewish and non-Jewish

students and faculty by planning:

  • Lecture/Speaker events
  • Rallies
  • Cultural events

Advocate and voice support for Israel in the media:

  • Write letters to the editor
  • Write Op-Ed's
  • Notify local news outlets and media of pro-Israel events taking place on your campus
  • Monitor on-campus group activities, rallies and speakers

Monitor media:

  • Check your campus paper for articles of interest

Work with Hillel students as well as other student groups, including non-Jewish groups on campus to promote Israel in creative way s:

  • Information tables
  • Hold Israel meetings
  • Public speaking (i.e., debates, information sessions)
  • Birthright recruiting and follow up programs

 
High Holidays Help
DePaul Hillel is looking for a few students interested in being involved with DePaul's High Holiday services throughout the summer.
