Fwd: [LakesideStudents] 2nd Annual Damen Awards: Nominations are now open

Nominations are now open for the 2nd Annual Damen Awards!

Between Monday, March 13th and Friday, March 24th at 5pm, you can go to
the following link and submit your nomination online:
http://www.luc.edu/damenawards/nomination_links.shtml

The Damen Award, named for Loyola University Chicago's founder, Arnold
Damen, S.J., seeks to honor full-time undergraduate students and student
organizations who have committed themselves to living the Jesuit ideals
by being a true source of inspiration and leadership to the Loyola
community throughout the year. These students and organizations are
people who have led other students in spirit, motivation and purpose.
Damen Awardees are students and organizations who have displayed
exemplary leadership in the Loyola undergraduate community, live their
life in the spirit of Loyola, and light the way for other students to
follow.

>From the pool of nominees, the entire Loyola community (students,
faculty, and staff) will then vote for 10 individuals and 3
organizations they believe deserve a Damen Award. The award winners will
be announced in front of as many as 1200 students at the beginning of
the Damen Ball on Friday, May 5, 2006 in the Grand Ballroom at the
Marriott Chicago Downtown, on Michigan Avenue. All Loyola students,
faculty and staff can nominate individual full-time undergraduate
students or undergraduate student organizations for a Damen Award.
Please consider nominating your peers, a student that you work with, or
a student organization that exemplifies the Jesuit ideals.

This is a wonderful way to recognize the many accomplishments of our
students in the Loyola community! So, nominate someone today and
encourage others to do the same! Please watch for more information about
the voting process and where to get tickets for the 2nd Annual Damen
Ball in the coming weeks! If you have any questions, please contact
Student Activities staff members Michelle Maruszak at 773-508-3897 or
mmarusz@luc.edu or Kate Agnew at 773-508-3910 or kagnew@luc.edu.
