Birthright Israel Registration Has Opened!!!

"BIRTHRIGHT ISRAEL"

The trip is FREE, the experience priceless.
Hillel's Taglit Birthright Israel provides a free ten-day experience for
qualifying applicants.  Your adventure.  Your birthright.

Want to see the sun rise after scaling Masada? Watch the sun set over the Mediterranean? Drop a note in the Western Wall?

If you are Jewish, 18-26 years old, and have never been on an organized peer program before - let your journey begin now! Shorashim is the organization that conducts all the Chicago community Birthright trips. With Shorashim you experience the awesome adventure of Israel through the eyes and hearts of Israeli peers. Shorashim is the only Birthright Israel program where all groups travel for 10-days with Israelis.  Leave the tour bus behind; experience Israel the Israeli way!

To register for the Shorashim Birthright Trip go to the link below. The general e-mail address is www.shorashim.org.
There are going to be at least 3 Taglit Birthright trips in December and January for undergraduates, Russian students who want to go on a trip with other Russian Jewish students, and graduate and young professionals.

YOUR MOST IMPORTANT ACT IS TO MAKE SURE AND PAY YOUR DEPOSIT WHEN YOU REGISTER!
IF YOU WANT TO GO ON BIRTHRIGHT, APPLY AND PAY YOUR DEPOSIT IMMEDIATELY!  THIS SECURES YOUR SPACE.  IF, FOR ANY REASON, YOUR PLANS CHANGE, YOU HAVE A CERTAIN TIME PERIOD IN WHICH YOUR DEPOSIT CAN BE RETURNED.  HOWEVER, YOUR SPACE IS ONLY SECURED WITH A PAID DEPOSIT.  MAKE SURE AND DO THIS!

Detail information follows:

The application itself should take you about 20 minutes. If you have any
questions about your eligibility, you should contact Shorashim before you fill out the
application.

Below you can find some answers to commonly asked questions.

When will I know if I am accepted?
Applications are reviewed almost every day, so within several days, you
should receive e-mail notification of your "pending" acceptance into
the program. Of course, if you have any questions before then, you can
feel free to contact us at this email or by phone at the number below.

What do you mean by "pending" acceptance?
Acceptance means that you are eligible for a spot based on
availability. You will be notified once we know how many spots are
available and can confirm your space. In order to be considered for a
space you must complete the following steps:
1. You need to submit the confirmation form along with your deposit
    and the waiver form.
2. You need to be interviewed.

Where do I get these forms, and how do I pay the deposit?
The forms are available on our web site in the "Forms" section. In
addition to the confirmation and waiver forms, which need to be
submitted right away; you can also download the medical and emergency
contact forms, to be submitted after your space is confirmed. Please
do not send in any deposits or forms until you have registered.

Your deposit can be paid online by credit card at the same location
(click the "Buy Now" button). You can also mail a check or money order
along with the forms to the address on the forms, but it is far more efficient
to do it online.

When will I be interviewed?
If you are going on a Loyola trip, once you have registered, please contact
Patti Ray to be interviewed.  Your acceptance cannot be confirmed without an
interview.  Patti can be reached by email at pray@luc.edu or by phone at
Hillela at Loyola - 773-508-2193.

I heard that there may not be enough spaces for everyone?
While we hope to accommodate everyone who wants to go, it is true that
the response to recent programs has been overwhelming. It is very
likely that there will be more applicants than spaces available, WHICH IS WHY
SECURING YOUR SPACE WITH A DEPOSIT IS SO IMPORTANT.

We are really looking forward to these programs and promise you an
amazing adventure. If you have any questions at all, feel free to
e-mail or call Shorashim directly.
